Riverside Mixing and Mastering located in the Peterborough area is the home studio of Scott Watson Lake a veteran of over 25 years in the music industry. Scott is a native of Parry Sound, Ontario, where he began his recording career, as a teenager, supplying live sound and recording local artists.

Subsequent to his graduation from the Harris Institute, Scott landed at the famous studio Phase One. Starting as an intern he quickly rose to the level of Chief Engineer. While there Scott worked with artists such as Keith Richards, Moxy Fruvous, Big Sugar, Lori
Yates, Thrust, and Maestro.

After five years at Phase One, Scott moved onto freelance and added artists such as Jesse Cook, Natalie MacMaster, Leahy, and Sarah Harmer to his growing “A” list of artists.

While still freelancing Scott was brought into Master at Canada’s renowned, award winning Metalworks Recording Studios. A small sample of his mastering credits include City and Colour, Cancer Bats, Comeback Kid, Bachman*Cummins, Downchild Blues Band, K’naan, Joel Plaskett, The Arkells, David Usher, Sam Roberts, Jan Arden, Finger Eleven, Danko Jones, David Gogo.

In 2005 Scott partnered up with Ben Varadi to build a Semi-Private world class studio called ‘Subterranean Sound Studios’. Located in Toronto it is presently the home of the famous Air Montserrat Neve Console. At ‘Subterranean’, Scott had the pleasure of working with artists such as Johnny Reid, Leahy, Alice Cooper, Communism,
​Mr. Something Something, Gregg LeRock, Brian MacMillan, Elizabeth Shepherd, and Ian Thornley.

Over the years Scott kept gathering gear and hard earned experience making music. When he moved out of the city to be riverside he opened his home studio, a place where Scott can focus on the music with no time constraints.  With hand selected gear and software Scott uses a blend of analog and digital to get the best sonic results with great attention to detail. At Riverside Mixing and Mastering Scott has had the privilege of working with such artists as Leahy, Cindy Diore, Norma Jeanne and Greg, Austin Carson Band, B*Boss, Gregg LeRock, Gavin Slaight, Donovan Woods, Kidd Rizz, Andrea Ramolo, and many others.

Scott presently can be found either lending his ears and experience to clients projects at Riverside Mixing and Mastering and Subterranean Sound Studios or out on the river fishing.
